Wind Text Effect

This tutorial will teach you how to create a attractive Text effect by using Wind Filter.

a Make an 350 x 200 in Pixels blank page with a black background.
a Next type something and make the text colour into white.

PS Family Image

Choose Layer > New > Layer via Copy. [Ctrl+J]
Hold down the Shift key and select the Background and the PS Family text Layer.

Go to Layer > Merge Layers or press Ctrl+E

Go to Filter > Stylize > Wind and use the following settings:

  • Method : Wind
  • Direction : From the Right

Press Ctrl+F to apply the last Fillter again.

Your result should be similar to this:

Now again Go to Filter > Stylize > Wind and click on the From the Left option and click OK.

Press Ctrl+F to apply the last Fillter again.

Choose Image > Rotate Canvas > 90° CW to rotate the
image 90° clockwise. [Because the Wind command can only be
applied in the horizontal direction]

Press Ctrl+F twicw to apply the last Fillter.

Now again Go to Filter > Stylize > Wind and click on the From the Right option and click OK.

Press Ctrl+F to apply the last Fillter again.

Your result should be similar to this:

Choose Image > Rotate Canvas > 90° CCW from the menu bar to
rotate the image 90° counterclockwise.

Choose Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. In the Gaussian Blur dialog
box, set the Radius to approximately 0.8 pixels, and then click
on OK.

Now go to Image > Adjustment > Hue/Saturation and use this settings:

  • Hue : 77
  • Saturation : 60
  • Lightness : 0

Set your PS Family Text colour into green.

Your end result should look like this:
